TRS Baking powder is a raising agent, commonly used in cake making. Baking powder is made from alkali, bicarb of soda, an acid, cream of tartar and starch, which generates carbon dioxide when mixed into dough or batter due to action of acid and heat. TRS Baking powder is a double acting baking powder, which means it releases carbon dioxide at lower temperature (before baking), as well as while baking. Therefore TRS Baking Powder gives consistent results in making Naan, Idli, Cake, Breads etc.
Baking Powder is different from Baking Soda. Baking soda, when combined with an acidic agent (yogurt, chocolate, buttermilk, honey, etc.) produces carbon dioxide that expand in oven while baking, and making baked goods to rise.
